Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born on March 4 1954) is a Canadian-American actor and comedian. O'Hara has been the recipient of many awards including one Genie Award and a Golden Globe Award. O'Hara also was awarded two Screen Actors Guild Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, six Canadian Screen Awards, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2018 she was recognized as an Officer of Canada. In 2020, she won the Governor General's Performing Arts Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Awards. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress when she was a part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. She was a part of the principal ensemble cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) along with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd started work in Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received high praise for her comedy writing and acting skills, earning her an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for the Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was a member of the brand-new Second City artistic Advisory Board and was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board were Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
